Historical context
These works are all by female French composers from the romantic era and have been transcribed by myself for double bass and piano. These works are truly a treat to play and listen to, but have been overlooked. The Chaminade songs have wonderful melodies, the Boulanger is full of harmonic twists and turns, and the Renié is dense and passionate.
