Host
Brooklyn-based pianist and improviser Jeremiah Cossa explores Rachmaninoff’s seminal suite Moments Musicaux, coalescing his Classical performance background with his unique language as a contemporary free-improviser. Using the score as an invitation for improvised dialogue, this ambitious and experimental solo recital - Jeremiah's first of its kind - asks what can happen when one plays compositions improvisationally and improvises compositionally. In an uninterrupted performance of deeply focused listening, Cossa will be combining high fidelity to the score with full freedom to draw inspiration from the music’s most esoteric concepts as a source for creative improvisation.
