This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Hosts

Kyle S. Co-host

We're so excited to be hosting Hannah White for the first time! Hannah is one of the leading violinists of the rising generation, and we're thrilled and privileged to have her perform for a living room groupmuse! She'll be joined by local Groupmuse legend Ian Scarfe for an evening of violin and piano music.

Something a little different this time: this groupmuse is a Fundmuser. That means Hannah and her pianist are gifting their performance. Tickets start at $25. Everything above that is a tax-deductible gift to the Groupmuse Foundation, our 501c3, and goes straight into supporting this ecosystem.

Pick whichever level feels right for you. At $250, you're sponsoring an entire living room concert — that means one more groupmuse in the Bay Area this season, sponsored by you. That's not a figure of speech, it's what it costs us to produce each living room concert.

Our goal for the evening: fund 10 more groupmuses in the Bay this season. Any amount you can give helps us reach that goal.

Enormous thanks to Joe Levin for opening his home for this. Joe has been a friend of Groupmuse for years and it's fitting that a night like this is happening at his place.

Drinks and light fare provided, but of course bring whatever else you're in the mood for.

Hannah is giving us her evening. Come be generous back. 💜🎻🎹

What's the music?

Our evening will feature music for violin and piano, in addition to selections for solo violin and solo piano, followed by an artist talkback after the performance, facilitated by Groupmuse co-founder Kyle Schmolze.

A few pieces you can expect to hear:

  • Saint-Saëns - Rondo Cappricioso
  • Piazzolla - The 4 Seasons of Buenos Aires (Winter)
  • Vitalli - Chaconne

Hannah has performed on stages across four continents since making her solo debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at age nine, and has soloed with orchestras including the Cleveland Symphony, Dallas Symphony, New World Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Madison Symphony. She's performed at Carnegie Hall (three sold-out concerts), Severance Hall, Wigmore Hall London, Kennedy Center, and the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and has been praised by critics for her "perfect intonation, technique, flair, and swing."
