GLRBooks is delighted to welcome acclaimed pianist and composer Jake Hart (@jakehart81196) for an intimate solo piano performance.

Jake Hart is an American pianist and composer whose debut album, Collage (Sunnyside Records, 2024), has been praised for its ability to bridge the worlds of modern classical music and jazz. A performer at renowned venues including Birdland Jazz Club, Mezzrow, and the Umbria Jazz Festival, Jake brings a unique and deeply personal voice to the piano.

John Hart is a New York fixture on the New York music scene for 30 years, John Hart has distinguished himself as a band leader with 18 CDs - including releases on such prestigious labels as Blue Note and Concord - as well as a first call sideman to the stars including a sixteen year tenure with organist Jack McDuff. Other associations include Lou Donaldson, James Moody, Jon Hendricks, Jimmy Smith, Brian Blade, Chris Potter, Larry Goldings, Bob Belden, Rick Margitza, Javon Jackson and the Maria Schneider Orchestra. A prolific recording artist, John has appeared on 100-plus CDs as a sideman.

Mike Lee is a Cleveland-born tenor saxophonist who has been a prominent presence on the New York and Northern New Jersey jazz scene for more than three decades. He has performed and recorded with artists and ensembles including the Jimmy Heath Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespie Orchestra, Wallace Roney, Oliver Lake, Maria Schneider, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, and Roy Hargrove. A dedicated educator as well as a performer, Lee is a professor of jazz saxophone at Montclair State University and has played an important role in jazz education through Jazz House Kids.

Charlie Himel is a New York–area bassist known for his versatility on both upright and electric bass. Originally from Falls Church, Virginia, he has performed with artists including Pete Malinverni, Carol Morgan, Greg Ruggiero, Vinny Valentino, and Aaron Seeber. Himel has also toured and held residencies with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, The James Hunter Six, Nefesh Mountain Band, and Wild Magnolia. He is an active member of the Tri-State jazz scene and a sought-after bassist in a wide range of musical settings.
