What's the music?

Pianist and composer Jake Hart will be performing an excerpt from his latest solo piano composition by memory. The piece is a continuation of a project titled Collage. It utilizes creative borrowing from a multitude of different composers and gives the listener the feeling that the music is completely improvised.

After a brief intermission, jazz guitarists John Hart and Ben Monder will perform together as a duo. John released his 17th album as leader through SteepleChase records titled New Mantra last March, and the performance will feature selections from his new album.
