Hosts

Suzanne T. Co-host

Join us for a concert in our home near downtown Mill Valley. We will provide appetizers and beverages, but feel free to bring whatever you would like as well. We have seating for about twenty, but room for 15 or so more on rugs on the living room and dining room floor. Please bring your own cushion to sit on if you would like one. Our house is at the top of 75 stairs (on the right). It is best to park between the divided sides of Miller Ave, or downtown. (Please do not park in the small lot at the bottom of the stairs as those spots belong to our neighbors.)

What's the music?

Scroggins & Rose violin and mandolin

This concert will celebrate the release of Speranza, the third collection from Scroggins & Rose, and their first on Adhyâropa Records. Folks can pre-order the album here! Conceived during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, this album came out of the darkness of that time; but rather than gloom, hopefulness and light permeate every corner of the recording. Scroggins and Rose are masters of their instruments, and the interplay between the two showcases not merely their virtuosity but their deep musical sensitivity for one another.

Scroggins & Rose is composed of two GRAMMY nominated musicians. Nashville based mandolinist Tristan Scroggins has been honored with a nomination for the International Bluegrass Music Association's Mandolin Player of the Year Award in 2021 and frequently performs in prestigious halls such as the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry. Bay Area violinist Alisa Rose was GRAMMY nominated for her work with Quartet San Francisco, has served as an Ambassador of the State Department with the Real Vocal String Quartet, and teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
