    ✨ Step into a serene and radiant winter evening with New Century Chamber Orchestra as they present “In Winter’s Glow” on December 13. This luminous program brings together the chamber orchestra and the youthful voices of the San Francisco Girls Chorus in a collection of works that shimmer like freshly fallen snow — inviting you to bask in warmth, light, and the reflective magic of the season.

    The program features:

    Suite for Strings by John Rutter — graceful, luminous string writing that sets the tone for a winter’s tale.

    Serenade for Strings by Edward Elgar — lyrical, rich, and full of heartfelt glow.

    Concerto for Four Violins in B minor, RV 580 by Antonio Vivaldi — vibrant baroque brilliance shimmering in winter’s light.

    Ola Gjeilo’s Northern Lights — a modern soundscape evoking shimmering auroras and quiet wonder.

    Traditional carols (arranged by Rutter) and works by William Billings, Benjamin Britten, David Conte, and Jake Heggie — a varied mix of old and new, cherished and fresh.
