    Get ready for a Halloween-night experience like no other — an electrifying performance by the Kronos Quartet joined by pianist‐composer Timo Andres on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 8:00 PM at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco.

    Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:

    George Crumb’s Black Angels: 1. Departure + God Music — a haunting, part-electric string-quartet piece with eerie texture and bold spirituality.

    Philip Glass’ Dracula Suite — featuring the minimalist master’s chilling score repurposed from the classic film for quartet and piano, perfectly tuned to this haunted evening.

    Bernard Herrmann (arr. Kronos) Psycho: The Murder (Shower Scene) — a spine-tingling string-quartet adaptation of the iconic film music.

    Plus works by Krzysztof Penderecki and Nicole Lizée, new world-premiere piano pieces by Gabriel Kahane, and improvisations by Andres himself.

    This evening is a fearless blend of film-score terror, contemporary audacity, and virtuosic chamber-music intensity — one night only.
