We are thrilled to be having our very first PMM event of the year at The Vital Shoppe. Richmond-born trumpeter Ryan Easter and his band Okra Juice will be making their Groupmuse debut.
Trumpeter, composer, and arranger Ryan Easter demonstrates a purpose-driven fascination with the dynamic history and practices of Black culture and music. He’s shared stages with Jennifer Holiday, Donald Harrison, Harish Raghavan, Tomoki Sanders, and many others, as well as performed internationally with the groups Nu Jazz and Wrens. Inspired as a teenager by seeing Roy Hargrove and Christian Scott perform in Jordans, Easter continues his exploration of style, substance, and the occasional omakase.
