Riyad Nicolas is a Syrian-British concert pianist, born in Aleppo in 1989, who has established an international performing career. Praised by Daniel Barenboim, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Mitsuko Uchida, he has performed at major venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Cadogan Hall, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Chicago Cultural Center’s Dame Myra Hess Series. He has appeared at universities, festivals and over 80 UK music societies, with performances across Europe, the USA and the Middle East. Riyad has won numerous international prizes, including First Prize at the Francaix International Piano Competition in Paris and the Ferenc Liszt International Piano Competition. He studied at the Purcell School, Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music, graduating with Distinction. His repertoire spans the classical canon and Syrian and Middle Eastern music, reflecting his cultural heritage. He teaches piano at Guildhall Uni
Music
I perform unique programme by Syrian composers such as Dia Succari, Kareem Roustom, Zaid Jabri and Walid Al Hajjar , and American composers such as Babadjanian and Khatchaturian. This is in addition to programmes by composers such as Bach, Chopin ,Schumann, Rachmainoff, Prokofiev, Liszt and others.
